Έχουν περάσει πέντε χρόνια από τότε που ολοκληρώθηκε η τηλεοπτική σειρά «Φιλαράκια», αλλά για τους φίλους της σειράς η Κόρτνεϊ Κοξ θα είναι πάντα το alter ego της Μόνικα Γκέλερ. Η ίδια όμως έχει άλλη άποψή και τονίζει πως ο ρόλος που υποδύεται στη νέα τηλεοπτική σειρά που πρωταγωνιστεί και έχει τίτλο Cougar Town είναι πιο κοντινός στο χαρακτήρα της από αυτόν της Μόνικα.
«Ελπίζω η σειρά να κάνει επιτυχία και ο κόσμος να τη λατρέψει. Γιατί εμένα μου αρέσει περισσότερο από κάθε άλλη που έχω πρωταγωνιστήσει», λέει η Κοξ.
Στο σίριαλ υποδύεται μία γυναίκα χωρισμένη, την Τζουλς που αλλάζει τους άντρες σαν τα πουκάμισα. Έχει έναν 17χρονο γιο και η ηλικία της είναι ανάλογη με αυτή της ηθοποιού.
