Assassin's Creed: Lineage is an upcoming series of three short films based on the universe of the video game Assassin's Creed. The films are made by Ubisoft, the game company itself, and the first episode was released on October 26, 2009 on YouTube[1].

The films are directed by Canadian film director Yves Simoneau.[2]

The story is a prequel to the upcoming video game Assassin's Creed II. It centers around the father of the game's main character, Giovanni Auditiore de Firenze.

Giovanni is an assassin living during the Renaissance in 15th century Italy. At this dawn of a new era, a conspiracy is being plotted by one corrupted family to overthrow the powerful Medici family and destroy an unified Italy. As an assassin, Giovanni must face this threat and bring justice. The story introduces the situation before Assassin's Creed II, and the enemies of both characters.

Working Info:
Στο συγκεκριμένο project συνεργάστηκαν τόσο οι παραγωγοί της ταινίας όσο και του παιχνιδιού. Συγκεκριμένα όλες οι σκηνές είναι γυρισμένες με Real acting σε green screen (τρόπος που εφαρμόσθηκε και στις ταινίες 300 και Sin City) από την εταιρεία Hybride (η ίδια εταιρεία των παραπάνω ταινιών). Στη συνέχεια τοποθετήθηκαν σκηνικά τα οποία δημιουργήθηκαν από την ίδια "μηχανή" των παιχνιδιών με ορισμένες βελτιώσεις. Να σημειωθεί ότι η εν λόγω εταιρεία ανήκει πλέον στην Ubisoft, εταιρεία παραγωγής του παιχνιδιού. Τα κουστούμια δημιουργήθηκαν μετά από ανάλυση των δεδομένων της εποχής (15ος αιώνας).
